Mossbreaker is a devoted, Los Angeles-area post-hardcore band who found their genesis in punk, their exodus in hardcore and religious pursuits in music. Formed in 2011, the group culled influences from watershed bands like My Bloody Valentine to Failure to Nirvana. This 4-piece outfit blend driving mid-tempo, post-punk rhythms and the spacey fuzz of early ‘90s shoegaze and grunge. The result: precise vocal melodies, copious amounts of delay- and distortion-drenched riffage and thunderous, impassioned drumming layered together through dynamic songwriting.
The group has made the most of their network and resources by playing gigs at noted Los Angeles and Orange County venues such as The Roxy, The Echo and The Observatory. Additionally, the band booked and self-promoted a 5-date West Coast tour in 2013 with Seattle-natives, Where My Bones Rest Easy.
Currently unsigned, Mossbreaker recorded a debut 7” in 2013, Separation Anxiety, with producer Alex Estrada (credits incl. Touché Amoré, Nails and Joyce Manor). Maintaining their punk/DIY ethos, the group self-released the single and self-produced an accompanying music video. The band is preparing to release a 4-song EP, entitled Transmission, recorded and mixed by singer/guitarist Gabe VanBenschoten.
With the motivation and wits to handle the current managerial duties, Mossbreaker is in search of an independent label to distribute their future catalog, as well as a booking agent to get them to where they’re most comfortable: the stage.
